Alan Chambers Obituary – Ocala Star-Banner

Alan Vaughan Chambers was born at home in Orange Lake, Florida to the late James S. Chambers and Nettie Pauline Blanton Chambers on August 13, 1946. He attended Reddick High School and was in the first official promotion of North Marion High School. After attending Central Florida Community College, he enlisted in the US Air Force. Alan has served at Phan Rang Air Base in Vietnam, Clark Air Base in the Philippines, Zaragoza in Spain, Aviono in Italy, Istanbul in Turkey and England. After returning to civilian life, he moved with his family to Citra, Florida, a few miles from his birthplace.

Surrounded by his family, Alan left this life in peace and comfort at his 48-year-old home in Citra, Florida at 2:03 am on December 18, 2021 after an eight-year battle with cancer. He is predeceased by his first wife Debbie. The survivors are: wife Mary Chambers; Children: Theresa (Chris), Richard, David and Mic (Kara). Grandchildren: Jordan, Taylor (Tim), Kaylee, Evan, Emily, Eva, Cora, Anya, Savannah, Olivia.

The service will take place at 2 p.m. on January 2, 2022 at the Citra First United Methodist Church. For those who cannot attend, you can ask the family in advance to be able to view a live video on Facebook.
